"After our offer was accepted we were in search of a Home inspector in Albany NY. We came across Shield Guard Home Inspections and after reading some of their reviews online we decided to give them a call. Adam came out for early in the AM to perform a home inspection and we were impressed to say the least. I cannot say I have encountered numerous home inspectors as who purchases that many homes in a 10 year period but I can say his knowledge and communication skills are great. He pointed out potential future defects and explained different maintenance issues to preserve the home and prevent expensive future maintenance issues. When looking for a home inspector I was looking for someone who could effectively and clearly explain the minor and major issues going on within the home. At the end of the home inspection Adam provided a report that to me was a gold mine. Very informative. Very professional."

Overall, a terrific experience. As a indicator of how thorough he was, there were no majors and only one minor that had to be resolved within a few weeks of move-in. But he still left a 50 page report, even including things like missing shades on bathroom lights. He was very quick with all of it, and the price (with radon test included) was quite reasonable. Would recommend.

Adam came out and inspected our home in Albany ny between the holidays. His response time to messages and emails were reasonable given the holiday season. The report turn around for the home inspection was 24 hours . After the home inspection Adam went over the major concerns of the home we had under contract. He even provided ball park estimates and great contractors who have really taken care of us. The radon results were delayed one day due to the holidays which was expected. His reports have so many pictures and are so straight forward a child can comprehend the issues at hand. Overall Adam was responsive, accurate and catered to our concerns. We weren't really surprised given the feedback we seen on here already. His prices were very competitive and we paid an extra $50 to go with Shield Guard home inspection business for the quality of the reports and his experience. We had a previous inspector inspect a home we previously had under contract and he provided us a flimsy report. For the extra $50 I got some really good advice and a report that was priceless. Along with a list of contractors that don't charge an arm and a leg.

"We worked with shield guard home inspection when looking at a commercial property (mixed use) in Albany NY. In our search for a commercial inspector we wanted to make sure the inspector had previous experience performing commercial inspections. Adam not performed a thorough inspection on the massive commercial property he also assisted us with quarterly , yearly routine maintenance that is required ie. elevator inspections, sprinkler inspections, Public assembly inspections etc. Additionally to the inspection Adam linked us up with an architect that was familiar with local zoning and building code, a plumber, electrician and General contractor. Furthermore he went above and beyond to advise us on the local permitting process, online references and points of contact to get our important questions answered. We ended up walking away from the commercial property after finding out we were unable to convert the property without a local zoning variance. We plan on using MR. Clark for all of our commercial acquisition adventures."

“Adam came out and provided a great home inspection. He was very focused at the home inspection but was able to answer any questions I had. He caught a huge cover up for a roof leak and saved us thousands. Our home inspection was performed on a home outside of Albany NY. We chose to have the radon and well testing done as we planned on converting our basement in the future and didn’t want to expose our family to radon. Here we are months later working on the punch list we made from his detailed home inspection reports. Shield Guard Home Inspections inspected our home on July 10th of 2018. Adam showed up on time, was attentive, professional and very knowledgeable. He pointed out issues we would have NEVER noticed and my husband is in the construction field. We received our report within 24 hours and the report was very clear. EVERY defect was described and supplemented with a picture. This allowed us to create a maintenance list prior to moving in. I would high Shield Guard home inspections again and I have already recommended Shield Guard to two of my friends who also were very impressed with him. I recently had the pleasure of working with Adam Clark of Shield Guard Inspection and found him to be wonderful! He was on time(actually I was the late one!) and went over the house from top to bottom. He explained things to me as he found them, answered my many questions with patience. It took a long time to go over all as this was a city-owned property and will need a lot of work.
Then he offered to pass along some names of reputable contractors, repairmen and or handymen for me to check out(at my request) and gave me rough ideas on how much certain repairs MIGHT cost as finances are an issue for me. I cannot express how helpful he was and how grateful I am. I highly recommend him for any type of inspection you may need.
